About

Christian Writer is the pen name of a British fellow who likes to ask questions and explore his faith.

I want the ideas and the discussion to stand by itself so I choose to keep my real name and identity out of it. Some people know who I am. I ask that you keep it to yourself.

The faith background of Christian Writer

My faith – what exactly it is that I believe is covered here.

I am in my mid 40s and grew up attending the same charismatic church as my parents. Keen for me to develope a rounded view of the world, my parents sent me to a Church of England school. Family holidays were generally taken at Christian conferences of various influences.

In the 90s I could be found at Greenbelt – a liberal christian music and arts festival.

Over the years my tendency to ask questions has allowed me to make some very interesting friends but has also offended a lot of Christians. Most commonly my questions seem to upset fundamentalists when they cannot adequately answer.

If all the sermons I have ever listened to were lectures I would have enough training to gain a Doctorate in Christianity. However, as most sermons are not pitched at that level (nor should they be for the average person) I instead have a lot of questions and a hunger to know more.

In church terms, I am best described as an enthusiastic lay person.

Asking questions

I run a blog on Tumblr called Questions for Christians. There I ask questions and try to avoid trying to come up with answers (because I don’t have any).
